Kathryn’s birthday cake

I had a traditional Black Forest cake. Traditional in the sense of how Mum has always done it –a chocolate sponge with two layers; bottom layer of cherries and cream, top layer jam (raspberry) and cream.
It was delicious!

It’s one of my favourite cakes and my favourite birthday cake (I have it almost every year). Mum and Amy made it so pretty this year with flowers and chocolate bark and 20 candles- normally we add the person’s age down to a single digit but this year I had the full 20.
It’s so pretty I had to share more than the usual one photo. It was a wonderful cake.
